In the past, the sludge (concentration) of domestic urban sewage treatment plants was dehydrated, and most of them used belt filter presses (hereinafter referred to as belt machines). Because of their high noise and energy consumption, centrifuges High, low processing capacity and rarely used, but in recent years, the use of decanter centrifuges (hereinafter referred to as centrifuges) has a tendency to exceed the belt filter press. The horizontal spiral sedimentation centrifuge is referred to as decanter centrifuge, which is an efficient centrifugal separation device.
In foreign countries, the use of decanter centrifuges is very common. In China, the promotion of horizontal screw centrifuges is mainly due to the successful marketing of centrifuge manufacturers. The main reason for choosing a horizontal screw centrifuge is that the solid content rate after dehydration is high, up to 30%. However, because the sludge disposal cost is not high, the requirement for solid content is not high, generally only exceeds 20%. In this way, the material and processing accuracy of the centrifuges supplied from abroad can still meet the requirements at a level. Because some domestic designers are vague about the choice of centrifuges, the centrifuge is used to treat the same solid content as the belt machine, so the centrifuge loses its competitive advantage. Many domestic design institutes or users often overlook this point.
The working principle of the horizontal snail centrifuge is: the drum and the spiral rotate at the same speed in the same direction, and the material is introduced from the feeding tube to the inner tube of the conveying screw, and then enters the drum after acceleration, in the centrifugal force field. Under effect, the heavier solid matter accumulates on the drum wall to form a sediment layer. The conveying screw pushes the accumulated solid phase continuously to the cone end of the drum, and discharges through the slag discharge port. The lighter liquid phase constitutes the inner liquid ring, which overflows the drum from the overflow end of the drum end and exits the machine through the liquid discharge port.
